SYRIA, Cyrrhestica. Cyrrhus. Caracalla, 198-217. Tetradrachm (Billon, 26 mm, 12.07 g, 1 h), 215-217. ΑVΤ Κ Μ Α ΑΝ[ΤⲰΝ]ΙΝΟC CЄΒ Radiate and cuirassed bust of Caracalla to left, raising his right hand in salute and with spear and shield over his left shoulder. Rev. ΔΗΜΑΡΧ ЄΞ ΥΠΑΤ Δ Eagle with spread wings standing facing on filleted thyrsus, head and tail right, supporting laureate head of Caracalla to right. Bellinger -, cf. 113 and Pl. IX, 8 (same obverse die, but with a differing reverse type). Cf. CNG 96 (2014), 651 (same obverse die, but with a differing reverse legend).
